Vacation Bible Study occurred from August 7th through the 14th. Missionary LaVerne Anderson and Aspiring Missionary Kera Reid taught a group of young people, ages 3-13, from the Book of Luke. The young people participated in Praise & Worship, learned about five (5) Doctrines of the Church, heard from guest Elders, did arts & crafts, learned Jesus Loves Me in American Sign Language (ASL), played games, and watched engaging videos.

 

Several members of Glorious Temple attended the Jurisdictional Convocation of COGIC in July 2021. 

 

Elder Michael Anderson, Missionary LaVerne Anderson, and Aspiring Missionary Sister Kera Reid participated in COGIC's 2021 Northshore District AIM (Auxiliary in Ministries) Convention. Elder Anderson, District President of YPWW, made comments. Missionary Anderson gave an informative presentation on a particular method to study the Bible (SOAP). Sister Kera served as a facilitator for the whole meeting.

 

Sister Shawna Tanner led a couple of Praise & Worship services for the Northshore District Meetings during the first half of 2021.

 

Elder Eric Darrisaw participated in the NAACP's 2021 Juneteenth NYSE Closing Bell Ceremony and spoke at the Houses of Worship Coalition Campaign Rally in May.  He is Executive Director of New York Eastern First Jurisdiction COGIC Urban Initiatives.

Additionally, Elder Eric Darrisaw was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR), a coalition of over 300 global institutional investors currently representing more than $4 trillion in managed assets. "Through the lens of faith, ICCR builds a more just and sustainable world by integrating social values into corporate and investor actions."
